Children’s Resource Center Opens Feb. 10. Here’s What We Still Need.

We have made significant progress on the renovations to our office and client meeting space at the Children’s Resource Center and will be opening on February 10! While we have several supplies and items already, we still need your help to stock the shelves with food, clothing and other items we’ll use to provide emergency relief to children and families affected by the addiction epidemic in our community.
Here’s what you can purchase or donate to help us get ready for opening day:Food

  • Frozen Meals (Pizza, Microwave Dinners)
  • Non-perishable Meals (Mac & Cheese, Soup, Canned Ravioli, Spaghetti, Etc.)
  • Snacks (Granola Bars, Pudding Cups, Pop-tarts)

Clothing

  • Children’s Shoes (New)
  • Children’s Jackets (New)

Toiletries

  • Shampoo
  • Conditioner
  • Body Wash
  • Hairbrushes
  • Deodorant
  • Diapers
  • Wipes

Household

  • Cleaning Supplies
  • Laundry Detergent
  • Toilet Paper
  • Paper Towels

Children’s Items

  • Books (Used or New)
  • Backpacks

If you would like to donate any of these items, contact Erin, our development and donor relations director, by calling 304-993-5693 or sending an email to erin@hopeforappalachia.org. And don’t forget to ask about getting a tax receipt for an in-kind contribution.

As we count down the days until we open the Children’s Resource Center, please consider donating goods or making a financial contribution. Providing short-term emergency relief for kids and connecting families to existing support systems and community resources may not solve the addiction epidemic, but it’s one way we can alleviate suffering in our neighborhoods by share the hope that comes only though Jesus Christ.
